Sanjay Agrawal, is a professional engineer and the founding principal of the firm. He has over 20 years of experience in construction and in structural design of virtually all types of buildings and civil structures. His extensive knowledge of various construction materials such as steel, CIP concrete, post-tensioned and prestressed concrete, masonry, timber, and tilt-wall allows him to present a variety of options to clients and contractors, who can then make informed decisions.
Sanjay has led the structural design efforts in virtually all market sectors: healthcare, educational, mission critical, commercial and mixed use, industrial, living spaces, parking structures, transportation and civil structures as well as structural forensics and full scale load tests. Notably among others, he is the Principal-In-Charge of the structural design team for the new 2.1 million square foot Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Sanjay holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, India, and a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Managing Principal + COO
Randy Hagens is a Professional Engineer and Licensed Architect with over 35 years of experience in performing structural engineering analyses, design, and investigations and managing staff and projects on a broad variety of architectural structure types, including hospitals, jails, courts, laboratories, central utility plants, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, freight terminals, schools, churches, multi-family housing, residences, communication shelters, and banks. For the past twelve years, served as a Structural Examination Subject Matter Expert for the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (NCEES) in Clemson, SC.
It is with great sadness in my heart that I, on behalf of the AG&E Structural Engenuity family, share the news that we have lost our dear friend, colleague, and mentor, Mike Hubbard, who passed away last week on Thursday, August 31, 2017. He was recovering from surgery that he underwent after suffering from a ruptured blood vessel in his brain the prior week.
Those of you who knew Mike well are aware of Mike’s passion for astronomy. In fact, Mike had just returned to Dallas from Missouri, after watching the total solar eclipse. He said to me jokingly before embarking on this trip, “I know Dallas will have another total eclipse in seven years, but at my age, one never knows….” I replied, “Aw, c’mon Mike!” That was the last conversation Mike and I had. Such is life.
Mike leaves behind a legacy of success. Successful children, successful colleagues, successful employees, successful projects, and successful clients. Mike was sought out by everyone, sometimes for technical issues, but mostly for his insight and how to do everything right. Mike counseled us all to always make decisions that would have to pass a basic litmus test: Will a certain action result in the good of the most? Good of the company, not just an individual. Good for the entire profession, not just one company. I have applied Mike’s test in life outside of work as well.
Mike’s remarkable technical savvy was matched only by his humility. He never missed an opportunity to instill confidence and wisdom in everyone he mentored. Through laughter and his wonderful sense of humor, Mike always provided great advice, both professional and personal alike. His kindness and genuine heart earned Mike the respect and admiration of those who were fortunate to cross paths with him.
Mike Hubbard is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Paula, his two children and their spouses, and four grandchildren.
A Service will be held in Mike’s memory at 10:30 am on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Rolling Oaks Funeral Home located at 400 Freeport Parkway, Coppell, Texas 75019.

Stephen has more than 40 years of experience designing a variety of structural systems and building types. In his leadership role, Stephen is becoming an integral part of AG&E-SE’s structural design leadership team and manages our new San Antonio office. He has a commitment to design creativity, cost efficiency, technical proficiency, schedule adherence, and personal service, which is evident in every project he touches.
Prior to joining AG&E-SE, Stephen founded his own structural design practice, Campbell & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc., in 1979, where he provided design services for over 70-million square feet of educational, healthcare, institutional, civic, federal and commercial building projects in over 30 states. Some of his more recent projects include the seating bowl of the new NFL stadium for the Dallas Cowboys and a member of the structural design team for the new Terminal D and parking garage at DFW Airport.
Stephen was one of the founders, a charter member, and the first president of the Structural Engineers Association of Texas. In 2006, he received their Wilbur C. Schoeller Award for his service to the structural engineering profession. He also sits on the Advisory Board of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of Southern Methodist University.
Managing Principal | Austin
With fifteen years of experience as a structural engineer for commercial and institutional building projects, Daniel Grant creates elegant structural solutions on time and on budget. His attention to detail on exposed structural elements has garnered architectural awards, while his innovative framing solutions have often saved valuable project dollars.
Daniel Grant employs the latest BIM technologies, streamlining the structural design process and eliminating chances for errors. While paying close attention to potential cost items from system-wide choices to individual details, he has generated a proven record of excellence in support of the architect’s vision and project owner’s needs.
Managing Principal | Houston
John has more than 12 years of experience and background knowledge in the engineering, design, and construction industries. His experience covers health facilities, entertainment, sports, restaurants, retail, corporate and government office buildings, educational and religious facilities, and industrial buildings. He manages and designs projects from schematic design to completion, creates working drawings, performs site visits and evaluates existing structures.

As one of AG&E Structural Engenuity’s youngest Principals, Ian Babcock has amassed an impressive project portfolio over his 12 years of Structural Engineering experience. His extensive structural design and project management experience and expertise spans a wide array of project types, including: aviation, corporate, education, healthcare, industrial and residential structures. Ian is also very well versed with the construction of structural steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures and the unique challenges associated with each of these construction types. He is currently managing several aviation, corporate and education projects, and is excited for the opportunity to expand his Studio’s project portfolio even further.
Clients and colleagues know that Ian Babcock brings a down-to-earth, approachable charisma and a vast project-knowledge to every project. His unwavering enthusiasm, creativity, and problem-solving skills make him a true team asset and a reason he has established enduring relationships with each of his clients. Ian believes that through a cooperative approach the best product will be achieved. Client relationships are the bedrock to AG&E Structural Engenuity’s continued success and truly exceeding each client’s expectations is Ian’s main passion in practice. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, where he focused his studies on the analysis and design of structures. Ian’s graduate-level coursework includes emphasis in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel Design.
Principal | Studio Manager
Cody Bain has over 12 years of professional experience as a structural engineer. He specializes in a variety of market sectors including healthcare and mission critical. He has a passion for design and believes collaboration among all the team members is the key to a successful project. Cody was the team leader for the lateral design and wind tunnel tests on the new $740 Million Parkland Hospital.
With 22 years of professional experience, Chet Emmett has been responsible for the structural analysis and design of a wide variety of facilities. Following many different building codes, Chet has provided structural engineering design of new facilities including office buildings, hospitals, and correctional facilities. He has also performed assessments of existing structures and has been involved in the design of their repair and rehabilitation. Chet has extensive experience managing projects from their inception through design and construction. He has prepared final construction documents and specifications and coordinated all structural work with architects and other consultants.
Jason Hart, PE has worked with engineers, architects, project managers, contractors and procurement specialists for more than 13 years. He has experience analyzing and designing structural systems at lignite plants, gas plants, steel mills, central utility plants, data centers, mines, spillways and dams.
In addition to detailed design and analysis, Jason frequently assists owners and clients with preliminary designs and cost estimates for project planning. He has OSHA safety training and has been responsible for corporate safety programs with no lost work time company-wide.
Jason specializes in structural engineering and structural condition assessment for heavy equipment structures, outage support and plant renovations and upgrades, including Monorails, Carts and Rails, Conveyor Systems, Platforms, Foundations for Heavy Equipment, Hoists, Crane Structures, Lifting Lugs, OSHA Personnel Restraint Anchors, Structural Design for Cooling Towers, Chillers, Generators, Transformers, Vibrating Equipment, Pipes, Bins & Silos, Containment Facilities, etc.
Jason Hart holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Slaven Seferovic has over 25 years of experience in structural engineering, project management, and structural system selection. He has been involved in a wide variety of projects including high-rise buildings, condominiums, apartments, hotels, industrial facilities, medical office buildings, parking structures, water treatment facilities, education, municipal, and recreational facilities.
While he was in Europe, he was responsible for the design and supervision of civil and structural works for residential and commercial buildings, bridges and transmission lines. He uses wood, masonry, structural steel, light gage steel, tilt up concrete, precast concrete, post-tensioned concrete and reinforced concrete in the structural design.
Slaven is actively involved in the design and construction processes, coordination of project personnel, project design, planning and budget control, value engineering to determine appropriate and economical systems, and drafting accuracy reviews.
Structural Dynamics Analyst
Dr. Jay Lamb is an expert in structural dynamics/vibration with over 25 years experience in vibration testing, analysis, and designing vibration mitigation systems for the civil and aerospace industries. Dr. Lamb participated on teams that designed the 50-story-tall IBM Tower in Atlanta and other high-rise structures. He has also participated in or led many forensic investigations including the Clipper Mill wall collapse analysis for the Baltimore City Fire Department, various Navy missile failures, and structural strength and vibration performance deficiencies in buildings. He served as supervisor for the Structures and Dynamics Section at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and taught courses in Vibrations and Dynamics for The Johns Hopkins University for more than 10 years.
Director of Quality Assurance
Andy Yuan has over 30 years of professional experience in structural engineering. He has participated in and managed the structural engineering design of various facility types including high/mid/low rise commercial buildings, K-12 and higher education buildings, sports facilities, airport terminals, parking structures and more. He began his career working on two notable projects- the 37 story Whitacre Tower in downtown Dallas (Formerly Southwestern Bell Tower and the AT&T Headquarters Building) and the 50 story One Atlantic Center Building in Atlanta, GA. Each of these facilities incorporate over one million square feet of space and are currently among the tallest buildings in their respective cities.
Operations Manager | Controller
Jill Fischer has 16 years of experience in business management and assists the principals in the direction of the firm. She has a bachelors degree from Texas Tech University. Jill oversees the accounting department, generates payroll, manages human resources and the day to day operations of the firm.
